The name "Anaheim" is said to have come about when a farmer named Emilio Ortega brought these seeds to the Anaheim, California, area in the early 1900s.  The 1913 Fairview Seed Co. catalog calls it a "recent introduction".

Anaheim Chilies are prolific bearers, of long thin fruits about 6" long.   Mildly hot, people use them in roasting, stuffing, stews, sauces or raw.  Organic plants grow 20-30" and bear late in the season.

Learn how to grow amazing organic peppers from seed and use them in mouth watering dishes.  From White Chocolate Ancho Ice Cream to Apricot Chile Glaze The Complete Chile Pepper Book has it all!

The Texas Cooperative Extension at Texas A&M recommends this variety for Texas!
