Indeterminate.  Potato Leaf Variety.  Pink Brandywine is said to be an Amish heirloom dating to the 1880s some time.  Carolyn Male in her book 100 Heirloom Tomatoes for the American Garden says...

"Mrs. Sudduth, who gave seeds to the legendary tomato-seed collector Ben Quisenberry, claimed that the variety had been in her family for about a 100 years.  Recent research suggests that Pink Brandywine was introduced through commercial seed firms.  The origin of Pink Brandywine in unclear, buth there is a precedent of commercial introductions originating from family heirlooms."

Brandywine Pink produces yields of 1 to 2 lb pink colored beefsteak tomatoes.  These tomatoes have a deep, rich tomato flavor that has made them so popular for over 100 years now.  Ask ten different gardeners and they will all have words to describe its legendary flavor, but they all agree it is one tomato that deserves a place in your garden.

Pink Brandywine did just fine here.  It is always late to produce here because we don't get any substantial heat till the end of summer which seems to suit Pink Brandywine just fine.  We didn't experience low yields typical with this variety.  Brandywines have large malformed blossoms that sometimes are difficult to pollinate (flicking them helps).  However, because we grow 100% organic we have a myriad of insect pollinators.  One large black bee I never was able to identify in particular seemed to be hard at work.  We also get some pretty violent winds from the near by coast which help shake loose the pollen.
