Solanum melongena Planting Tips: A tropical plant, likes warmer temperatures. Will be slow to develop in cooler temperatures. Soak seeds overnight to start in greenhouse 2 weeks before last frost. Transplant out at about 8 weeks or when temperatures are consistently above 65 degrees. Needs good, fertile soil and adequate moisture. Seeding Rate: 35,000-40,000 plants/acre, Heirloom seeds are hardy but always take care with your garden seeds to give them the appropriate amount of moisture - not letting the vegetable seeds dry out prematurely or overwatering and possibly having them rot. |
