Romanesco Broccoli Seed

Brassica oleracea
Romanesco Broccoli Seed (75 days)

50 seeds in a package

Romanecso reminds me of the patterns you would see when looking through a kaleidoscope as a kid.  It has great spiraling designs and shades of apple-green color whirling together to form some of the best tasting broccoli.

Grown almost everywhere in Italy for its amazing flavor.  Especially well adapted to cool northern areas.

TIP  Make sure to give these plants lots of room they can grow 3' in diameter easy.

Recommended by the Following State Universities or Ag Extension Offices as a variety that performs well for their region. OR, TX

Getting very rare and hard to find seed these days.

Planting Tips:

Start spring seedlings 4-6 weeks before last frost.  Start fall transplants 2-3 months before first frost.  Plant in ground when 3” tall and bury stem 1” deeper than they were in your pots.  When transplanting, enrich soil with a little blood and bone meal.  Once main head is cut, harvest side shoots for several weeks.

Heirloom seeds are hardy but always take care with your garden seeds to give them the appropriate amount of moisture - not letting the vegetable seeds dry out prematurely or overwatering and possibly having them rot.
