Heirloom seed package contains 2 oz or about 80 bean seeds

Romano Pole Beans are also known as "Italian Green Pod Beans", "Italian Flat Beans", or "Italian Pole Beans".

Romano Pole Bean is an old reliable variety that has been around for a long time.

Many consider it a classic Italian flat gourmet bean.

Romano Pole is thick, meaty, tender, flat and string-less.

Plants can grow 6-8'.

Romano produces very high yields with ample moisture and manure.

Buff brown bean seed with white eye.

For continuous harvest keep beans picked when they are young and most tender.

Mosaic-resistant bean

Recommended by the Following State Universities or Ag Extension Offices as a variety that performs well for their region. OR,

TIP  Remember to harvest beans after the dew has dried off them.  This helps keep the spread of fungus or other pathogens down as your pant legs can be the transmitter.

Planting Tips:

50-60 days for green, 100+ days for dry beans.  Some vines can reach 12’ long, so provide adequate support.  Not cold tolerant, beans need warm soil of 65 degrees or better.  Regular harvesting of the young pods will ensure a greater yield.  Grows best in full sun with well watered soil.  Boost yields and germination by adding inoculants.

Make sure to provide adequate support for these vigorous climbers!  A strong fence or twine hung on a strong pole will give them plenty of room to grow and good harvest yields.

Heirloom seeds are hardy but always take care with your garden seeds to give them the appropriate amount of moisture - not letting the vegetable seeds dry out prematurely or overwatering and possibly having them rot.
