Brown Goldring Lettuce Seed (55 days)
Sustainably Grown 500 mg ~300 seeds

Our friends at Seed Ambassadors say...
"similar to Bunyards Matchless and sherwood with more compact and open growth, slightly frilled leaf margins, dark green crunchy leaves with bronze tips, excellent sweet flavor, Very cold hardy, needing little protection to overwinter and grows well in the summer. Won an award of merit from the Royal Horticultural Society in 1923, A British heirloom (possibly originating in the US). Originally by the name of "Goldring's Bath Cos" from Heritage Seed Library, UK."

Very rare.

Brown Goldring lettuce did well in our cool fog filled nights on the West Coast.  It makes sense this British heirloom lettuce would succeed in similar conditions.

Planting Tips for Organic Heirloom Lettuce Seeds:

Sow directly into very fertile, loose soil.  Thin down to final spacing once plants are established.  For best results, plant in spring or fall.  Harvest outside leaves for a continual harvest.  For longer harvest, stagger plantings every 2-3 weeks.

Heat Tolerance:  If you are growing lettuce in the heat, plant them where they will get afternoon shade.  Lettuce is a spring and fall crop in really hot areas.

Harvest Tips: For a continual harvest, sow a new crop every 2-3 weeks if cutting full heads, otherwise harvesting outside leaves will encourage a longer harvest from individual plants.

Seeding Rate:

30,000 plants/acre, aproximately 2 oz.
