Hordeum vulgare subsp. vulgare
Baku Hulless Barley (83 days)

Collected in 1910 in Azerbaijan, Iran.  Was frequently roasted and added to coffee.  Still popular today for just this use.  Also used in brewing ales and soaked brings a nutty flavor to salads.

Two row barley that has 13 % protein.  Spring planted.  Awned.  Excellent stooling or basal shoots.

Part of Sustainable Seed Company's Grain Restoration Project.

Sample Sizes Only.   You will receive 25 seeds.  Please don’t ask for larger quantities because we do not have them. The idea is for as many people as possible to get started and grow your own reestablishing genetic diversity.  This allows many people to get samples instead of just a few and hopefully will preserve this cultivar.

Extremely rare cultivar.  Will not be available to the public again till summer 2011.
