Lactuca sativa
Organic Lolla Rossa Darky Lettuce Seed (72 days)
Fantastic magenta leaves with frilled edges that have a wonderfully mild flavor.  Makes a colorful salad or garnish.

Plant rows along your paths or driveway for a real edible show stopper.

Lolla Rosa Darky forms 7" looseleaf heads and is slow to bolt.

This is a true cut and come again variety.  You may cut the whole plant to about 2 inches and it will regrow, providing another crop!

The color and flavor of Lolla Rosso Darky make it a sure seller at farmers markets.  Many market growers sell it at gourmet eateries who can't get enough of it.

Recommended by the Following State Universities or Ag Extension Offices as a variety that performs well for their region .  TX

Planting Tips for Organic Heirloom Lettuce Seeds:

Sow directly into very fertile, loose soil.  Thin down to final spacing once plants are established.  For best results, plant in spring or fall.  Harvest outside leaves for a continual harvest.  For longer harvest, stagger plantings every 2-3 weeks.

Heat Tolerance:  If you are growing lettuce in the heat, plant them where they will get afternoon shade.  Lettuce is a spring and fall crop in really hot areas.

Harvest Tips: For a continual harvest, sow a new crop every 2-3 weeks if cutting full heads, otherwise harvesting outside leaves will encourage a longer harvest from individual plants.

Seeding Rate:

30,000 plants/acre, aproximately 2 oz.
