This giant succulent snow pea was developed by Dr. Jim Baggett at OSU.

Oregon Giant has broad, thick, tender and sweet pods growing up to 5" long.

Much sweeter flavor than Oregon SugarPod II, but not nearly as vigorous in cold climates. 

Plants grow 24-36" tall. 

Resistant to pea enation mosaic virus, fusarium wilt and powdery mildew.

Planting Tips for Heirloom Organic Peas:

Heirloom organic peas like it cool, so you can plant them 3-4 weeks before your last frost date but besore the soil is well drained and raised in beds or rows.  Germination in these heirloom peas is as low as 45 degrees and it is often said that a cooler pea will be sweater.  Using soil inoculation will increase yields by boosting the available nitrogen in the soil.

For the highest yeildes of these delicous organic garden peas, make sure they have thin wire or string to climb.  This will give them more room to grow, thus collecting more sunshine and creating better yields.  Remember to continually pick the ripe pods as to encourage a longer harvest.

Organic Heirloom seeds are hardy but always take care with your garden seeds to give them the appropriate amount of moisture - not letting the vegetable seeds dry out prematurely or overwatering and possibly having them rot.
