Beautiful bright red bell pepper. This early maturing variety turns from green to red. This is a great choice for Northern gardeners as Wisconsin Lakes was at the University of Wisconsin at Madison by Professor O. B. Combs in the 1960s. It produces a good reliable harvest of early bell peppers. Fruit is typically about 4-6 ounces and 4-5 inches in height with thick sweet walls.

A favorite for stuffing and a great choice for freezing for later use. This pepper was loved by the employees here at Sustainable Seed and many of them are still enjoying stuffed peppers through the winter months. The pepper is small enough so that it does not take up a large amount of space in the freezer. A must try for pepper lovers in colder regions with shorter growing seasons.

Planting Tips for Organic Heirloom Sweet Peppers:

Start these vegetable seeds indoors about 6-8 weeks before your last frost date.  Be sure to keep them in a warm place so that the soil temperature stays above 75°.  Young heirloom pepper plants like it to stay warm and will develop best if kept happy.

Only transplant after the pepper seedlings have shown several sets of their true leaves and only once you are sure the outside soil temperature is consistently above 65°.

Organic Heirloom seeds are hardy but always take care with your garden seeds to give them the appropriate amount of moisture - don't let the vegetable seeds dry out prematurely, and don't overwater and possibly have them rot.
