What Makes Us So Special?
We grow and buy only in the United States. Supporting small American Farmers. We spend countless hours giving you detailed information about a variety in our catalog. No one-liners like other seed companies. We even include historical data from catalogs as old as 100 years. This serves as a free database to many researchers.
We are real people. Yes, that kind of sounds silly, but how many times do you feel like you deal with face-less companies and not real people. Companies that nowadays just don't seem to care or hold themselves accountable for the things they do. We do care and we are tired of dealing with companies that keep us on hold for 20 minutes when we call or transfer us to an answering service in another country! Read our bios below. We are here for you.
Our LocationSustainable Seed Company is located in pristine Round Valley, California. That is about 4 hours north of San Francisco, California. We do not operate a retail location at this time. Mail order only. We are a new generation of farmers who understand that if there is to be a bright future for humanity we need to start farming and living sustainably today. We are the Sustainable Seed Company...

I am so excited about finding your site. I ordered some "supposed" heirloom seeds from another company a few years ago, and was very disappointed with both the germination rate and the resulting veggies they created. I will be placing an order with you guys in about a week. I am so excited--I can "feel" the exuberance of your "team" jumping through the pages! It is catching. Good luck to all of you and I so look forward to working with your seeds and then sending you positive feedback about them. I love what you all are doing. What an exciting future for all of you and your customers. |

1. Start early. Smaller seeds like tmaetoos, peppers and tobacco take time to germinate.2. Use peat pots and a porous soil mix for proper breathing.3. You can use the cardboard egg cartons if you have saved enough of them4. Create a little greenhouse by covering with plastic in a sunny window5. Be careful not to over water–as so many of us are “overcaring” |

WOW! I ordered several packages of organic heirloom seeds. Of course, I planted double what I really wanted because you know they don't all germinate...WRONG! I had 46 tomatoes, 33 broccoli and the list goes on. Our square foot garden is flourishing with beautiful huge vegetable plants. Great company. Thank you for being there! |

Beautiful website.....well done. Looking forward to receiving my seeds. My hopes are to be able to give seeds to my family, so they can be self sufficient, when the time comes! |
