Top Mark cantaloupe made its appearance sometime in the early 1960s.
It has 7" fruits that are slightly oblong, well-netted, slight ribs, thick, and firm with sweet salmon colored flesh.
Top Mark Melon has a small seed cavity leaving room for more juicy sweet melon.
Very vigorous vines that are well adapted to tolerating heat.
3-4 pound fruit Slips from the vine when mature.
Top Mark melon is resistant to downey mildew, powdery mildew and scab.
Top Mark' is "tolerant" of papaya ringspot virus and watermelon mosaic virus
Still one of the two best West Coast cantaloupes.
In hot Northern California these are cranking out lots of super sweet fruit while at the same time are trying to take over my garden. They will be a must-have in me garden from now on.
