Frosty Berseem Clover (60 days)
Untreated
Berseem Clover is a summer annual which is an excellent cover crop well suited to winter-kill situations. Adding up to 8 tons of forage per acre if watered properly, it can fix from 125-200 pounds of nitrogen per acre. As a green manure, Berseem adds a ton of biomass to the soil - not only accumulating Nitrogen, but adding over 3,500 pounds per acre of organic matter to the soil each year. It can be used as a companion crop if planted with Oats or hay, and is a fast growing forage for your animals - with up to 25% protein, it is better than crimson clover or alfalfa.
