Lemon balm Herb Seed

Lemon balm is a member of the mint family. You can tell because of the square stems that are indicative to this family.
Lemon balm has a long history dating back to the Middle Ages and probably long before. It has been used on insect stings, gas, bloating, and to improve appetite but, it is most well known for promoting sleep or relieving anxiety.
It has also been used in creams to treat cold sores.
Lemon balm is a light dependent germinator. Meaning you must have good sunlight for it to germinate properly. It likes a two week cool period or cold conditioning before planting. Put it in the fridge or plant when the soil temp is below 70 degrees. Lemon balm will germ in 10-40 days. It likes full sun, but can tolerate shade as well.
There is the official line. Sound hard to grow? It is not! We don't water it, it never gets replanted and always comes up every year without fail once it is established. It is a delight to have and every herbal/kitchen garden should have it.
