Black diamond watermelon produces 40# lip licking juicy red melons during the mid season just when you are craving a cool melon the most.
Bred to have a tough skin and large leaves to prevent sunburn. This is one drought-tolerant melon! The rind is thick enough to tolerate transport but thin enough to make slicing a breeze.

Perfect for those hot Texas summers. Especially, in rich sandy soil. Hempstead, Texas and the surrounding area is famous for Texas-size watermelons. This is one of the best heirloom watermelon seed varieties for Texas.
Only 1of the 4 seeds I put in seedling pots sprouted; that plant is doing great, but 1 out of 4 is very unsatisfactory.
Too early to give a full review. My Melon seeds has only been in the ground 2 weeks while I waited for that final cold snap to pass.
