Every seed came up, they're about 3' tall with a sturdy stem. Waiting until mid March to put out in the southern (Ga) garden. Will be licking my lips watching them flower and fruit. I like these as an addition to a traditional red tomato salad.
I had 40 mph winds my greenhouse fell over and was so surprised the seeds survived two days in the cold under soil and are still growing. The roots were in tact so i transplanted them, they are doing just fine. 10 stars

China Aster, Crego Mix Callistephus chinensis
0.2 grams per packet, approximately 100 seeds
Sow 5 ounces per 1,000 square feet, 13 pounds per acre
This cheery cool-season annual puts out doubled flowers in red, pink, white and purple from July through September. China Aster needs consistently moist soil and prefers full to partial sun. It's a good idea to replant it in a different spot in the garden each season to deter its pests.
China Aster is not frost tolerant, so start indoors six weeks before the last frost and set out after danger of frost has passed, or direct sow at that time. Germinates best in soil 70-75 degrees F, with some light.
