Every seed came up, they're about 3' tall with a sturdy stem. Waiting until mid March to put out in the southern (Ga) garden. Will be licking my lips watching them flower and fruit. I like these as an addition to a traditional red tomato salad.
I had 40 mph winds my greenhouse fell over and was so surprised the seeds survived two days in the cold under soil and are still growing. The roots were in tact so i transplanted them, they are doing just fine. 10 stars
Chose Cowhorn okra as a new variety to try here in Central Texas. Planted mid May along with Clemson Spineless, a good performer for me. Cowhorn came up quicker with a very vigorous plants. Just starting to produce okra, a nice tender pod 4 to 6 “ long. Clemson spineless are just starting to produce, 2 weeks behind Cowhorn.
A good choice .
4 Day Germination
I used older self saved seed in my okra bed this year and had 100% failure... I ordered fresh seed from Sustainable Seed Co. And planted it the day it arrived. 4 Days later my plants are starting to sprout... Hallelujah! My okra may be a bit late but I will have plenty of it! Thanks!
