Every seed came up, they're about 3' tall with a sturdy stem. Waiting until mid March to put out in the southern (Ga) garden. Will be licking my lips watching them flower and fruit. I like these as an addition to a traditional red tomato salad.
I had 40 mph winds my greenhouse fell over and was so surprised the seeds survived two days in the cold under soil and are still growing. The roots were in tact so i transplanted them, they are doing just fine. 10 stars

Evas Burgundy Lettuce Seed
Eva's Burgundy Lettuce Seed(32-45 days)
Approx. 200 seeds per pkg. Sustainably/Organically Grown
Fantastic burgundy lettuce that is superior in flavor to many others in its class. A great color that adds to any salad.
I got this seed a few years ago from Lisa Von Saunder. She collects endangered seeds from Amish Pennsylvania German families in the area and tries to preserve them. She says she collected this seed from an 89 year old neighbor..."Eva". Thus the name and of course the color!
Very rare. Once we are sold out we will not have anymore until next summer.
California Grown Seed Eva's Burgundy is a fantastic lettuce for the cool nights of California. Very bolt resistant in our our coastal weather here. Many lettuces will start to turn bitter in flavor as the heat increases. Eva's lettuce stays mild until the 3 weeks of upper 90 degree heat we can sometimes get. Excellent fall lettuce as Eva's has a remarkable level of frost resistance for a lettuce.Performed extremely well here and is highly recommended.
