Craig Lehoullier is a tomato enthusiast and back in the late 1980s Maye Clement brought him a branch of tiny yellow tomatoes to display at the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society Harvest Fair. Maye said these tiny little tomatoes grew wild in her home country of Mexico. This is a wonderful story of how so many great tomatoes get traded all around the world. This tiny tomato made its way from Mexico to Pennsylvania and now here on the West Coast.
Coyote is a tiny tomato with a big taste! You just can't stop popping them in your mouth like candy. Good thing this vine gets huge, because you just can't stop eating them. Make sure you give them plenty of room and lots of good support to grow on. The fruits are borne in clusters of 6-8 fruits. They perfect for fresh eating, salads and I suspect they would be great in salsas!
