Athens was introduced to the US in 1958 by Gleckler Seedmen, and is now extremely rare. This Greek heirloom has been grown across North America, from Florida to British Columbia, and is known for its heavy yields of smooth red fruit. The plants are medium-sized with dense foliage. The flavor is mild and semi-acid.
