Bloomsdale Long Standing (39 days)
Introduced around 1800 by the Landreth Seed Company. 1807 catalog states "introduced by us many years ago". Bloomsdale was the home and farm of David Landreth on the banks of the Deleware.
Bloomsdale is by far the most popular and widely available open pollinated spinach.
Glossy, dark green savoyed leaves are sweet, tender, fleshy and have a rich flavor.
Bloomsdale spinach stands well in warm weather without bolting.
I received the seeds and will be starting some in the house this week.
Too soon! Still in the pack!
