(55 days) A great little round carrot that is a nineteenth-century French heirloom. Parisian is an early orange-red carrot that grows almost more like the shape of a large radish. Excels in clay or rocky soil where other carrots have problems developing properly. Its flavor is legendary and is highly sought after by organic gourmet restaurants. Fantastic organic market seller and very popular with the kids because of its size. Makes a great bunched presentation.
NOTE: For round roots, be sure to provide even moisture during growth. Drought stress will result in an elongated shape as the roots reach for moisture.
I have red clay here in upstate S.C. that generally does not work well for carrots but these small , round ones do fine, growing like a radish.
I planted them and they germinated well. I would like to wait to review this item until they've grown and been harvested, but Sustainable Seed has the annoying habit of pestering me to review seed that I've just received. They should change their policy to time the emails to near when harvest would occur or maybe just one soon after arrival. The spam is annoying.
