Rot Front
60 days
Rot Front is a dark air-cured variety developed in East Germany in the Lausitz, and is now grown mainly in Austria in the area of the Oder and the northern Baden as a cigar tobacco.
It is also used in cigarette and pipe blends. It has a medium nicotine content and the flavor is sometimes described as spicey.
Rot Front is resistant to extreme weather conditions and has good resistance to disease. It is a very good producer, growing to 6' in height.
The leaves are closely space and upright, averaging 14" wide by 20" long. It matures in about 60 days. The leaves turn a lighter green with some yellowing, and the tips and edges curl down as it ripens.
