Raphanus sativus
Very quick to produce, spicy when small (about lg marble size) and become more mild when larger. Attractive red radish that looks like it has been dipped in white. Larger than Cherry Belle, but just as quick to produce. Fast, tasty and attractive what a great combination for market sales!
1942 Burpee Seed Catalog says about sparkler white top radish seeds...."Choice early variety that is a superior strain of the old scarlet turnip white tip. Small round roots, 1 1/4" in diameter, with bright scarlet top, a clear white base, and small, slender tap-root. The juicy flesh is pure white and of an agreeable snappy flavor. Our stock of this popular variety is perfectly uniform and remarkably fine. A very attractive radish for bunching or market; an excellent forcer."
