Black Sea Samsun originated in the Samsun region of Turkey near the Black Sea.
Prized for rich flavor and aroma, but yet mild to smoke.
It matures in 65-70 days and is often sun cured.

all seeds sprouted and were growing well. Had to leave town for emergency and forgot to have someone water my starter trays. all died. my fault. gonna try again next season. oh well...
My samsun seeds germinated in about ten days inside, and were moved to individual pots in a a small greenhouse outside about three weeks later. At the rate they're growing I think I will be able to transplant them into the garden in a couple more weeks. Astoria, Oregon has a generally cool but sunny growing season lasting well into September, so I should be able to harvest my crop with some time for sun drying. I'm planning to experiment with the cavendish process for at least some of the leaves. I've been pleased with the results so far.
Everything came in a timely manner. The seeds sprouted within 10 days of arriving, and i will be planting them in the ground in a few weeks. You've made yourselves a repeat customer.
Fantastic germination rate, approx 10 days for me, plants are about 3 inches tall right now with very little die off from New York’s cold weather, these are strong plants.
